Comet Hale-Bopp 4/11/97
Taken on front lawn of Beckman Institute, California Institute of Technology, Pasadena, CA (only 2 blocks from where I live). Alan Hale, T. Bopp, David Levy, Don Yeomans were hosting a panel discussion entitled *Comet Chasers*. I had 3 mounts on display, one for visual use (the other 2 for photographic use). I roamed the telescope viewing area with a 50mm lens, and got the above shot. The media were there in force, and my 30x40 mounted prints and photographic rigs drew a lot of attention (and TV coverage).
